Abstract

As part of an international service learning course, and in collaboration with the Belizean Ministry of Education, graduate students in counseling psychology from the United States traveled to Belize and worked directly with children and educators in a low socio-economic status, high-needs elementary school. In collaboration with teachers and school administrators, a preventive psycho-education programme was provided to children about responsible, pro-social behaviours; decision-making; and positive relationships. Outcome information, both immediate and longer-term, is provided as well as recommendations and implications for delivery of preventive psycho-education programming.
