Deryck R. Brown is research associate at the Institute of Social and Economic Research, University of the West Indies, St Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. He received his PhD in Development Studies, specialising in development administration and management from the University of Manchester. His research interests are in the areas of micro enterprise development, evaluation and institutional development. He also edited the second volume in the series, Selected Issues and Problems in Social Policy.
