The essays in this volume consider various literary and linguistic aspects of the Francophone Caribbean at the beginning of the 21st century. It covers such topics as Caribbean literary movements and the dynamics of the respective roles of Creole and the European standard language.
Gertrud Aub-Buscher taught French at the University of the West Indies, and directed the language center of the Universtiy of Hull.
Beverly Omerod Noakes is an associate professor of French at the University of Western Australia and a specialist in the teaching of Francophone literature.
